The carbines were introduced to American consumers in 2003, but offered another advantage for enthusiasts who already owned one of the company's popular pistols. It also uses the same magazines as the Beretta 90 series and now includes magazines for Px4 or 8000 series pistols.

Introduced last year, the SnapSafe GlideVault features a spring-loaded closure that's small enough to use under a bed, in a closet, or on a counter, but large enough to hold jewelry, important documents, and most handguns.

The large, often waterproof, containers of dehydrated food that keep families going for days, weeks and months are apparently more popular than ever. The number of different companies on the market shows that the demand is higher than ever and that it is not only the "survival" people who are buying.

Springfield Armory XD-M Elite 4.5” OSP In 10mm Auto, NRA Gun of the Week, American Rifleman Gun of the Week. It's been a while since our last pawn shop discovery, but COVID has wiped out or closed local stores as a result of the pandemic. Fortunately, my local shop gets mostly from people who sell guns and pay bills. The most common reason for selling firearms is bills. I have been told by a few merchants that this is a payment. Most of the guns in my local pawn shop are double barrel shotguns or cheap old ones. I know you love and want a decent gun at a great price, and this edition of Pawn Shop Finds is no different than the crazy story of the unloved Beretta CX4 Storm.
I was interested when I saw the CX4 Storm 9mm on the shelf. A red dot of Barska stood on the shelf, about the size of a beer can, and I was immediately fascinated by her story. I asked how much they wanted it just to take it and try it out if it was cheap enough. When the clerk said $234.99, I tried not to laugh and immediately asked if $200 was okay. He laughed too and immediately said no. At first I was going to give him a second offer, but really knew I wasn't going to find a rifle that cheap, so I gave up and negotiated the price.
This was the first gun I bought with a barrel housing. Here's a fun little fact for you all! You'd think a Beretta would look sexier with a long barrel protruding from the front of the gun, but by today's standards, it's tacky. My glorious CX4 Storm is black trash. It was in a sack, one magazine, an incredibly bad red dot and 20 years worth of dirt. To be honest, I was half tempted to make a quick buck by throwing it at a gun dealer, but I've always been bad at selling the guns I've bought, so I quickly abandoned that idea.

The CX4 Storm bore an uncanny resemblance to the FN FS2000, Beretta's AR160 rifle had a wild standby one night, and nine months later the CX4 came out. It has a very elegant curved hoof and a frame that looks a bit off but fits comfortably in your hand. Iron sights are almost useless on 9mm carbines. One of my favorite things about the CX4 Storm is the magazine compatibility between the PX4 pistol magazines and the 90 series magazines, so there is a ton of surplus magazines on the market today. Another popular feature of the CX4 Storm is the screw release where your thumb rests.
I have killed this lead shooting beast a total of 4 times so far and every time the trigger of this gun absolutely blows it away. This CX4 Storm has the worst trigger I have ever felt on a pistol caliber carbine I have ever shot. I was so incredulous that I had to throw the scale behind the trigger to see how heavy it was. The five to six times I weight tested the trigger, it averaged about 7.5 pounds, had almost no walls, and broke when I moved it all the way.
If it had a defined wall and then a strong pull to launch the charge I would understand more, but it doesn't. No defined wall, just long and heavy. Reset clicks. Slightly better sound but overall not a great trigger. I shot about 550 rounds through the CX4 Storm and it has some quirks, but it performed well. I decided to remove the cheap red dot and replace it with my favorite Leupold LCO.
Compared to modern PCCs, the CX4 Storm is a bit clunky and less ergonomic, but it was one of the first popular PCCs that came out when most companies didn't make PCCs yet. One thing to remember. Even today, there are many people who truly love their CX4 and keep it alive with aftermarket support and upgrades.
Beretta Cx4 Storm .40sw
Honestly, I can't be mad at the Beretta CX4 Storm and its performance. It's been 100% reliable and even if I had a pretty rough launch I had to go back and change something when I bought the CX4 Storm, it's really good value for money so I honestly won't be doing that. I'm still not entirely sure why it was so cheap, but I'm glad it's in the safe now. Despite the coronavirus and political threats, I can find a wide variety of used guns at great prices. Don't get me wrong, the deals are much harder to find, but they definitely exist.
Let me know what you think of my Beretta CX4 Storm. If you think it's worth $235, buy it. Although I wasn't a fan of this particular model of firearm before I had it, to be honest I really like the fun carbine now. We'd love to hear your experiences with the CX4 Storm, both good and bad, so leave your story in the comments below.
